Hello.
I am blogging and/or working from home today. I am a single dad for the week as Kristie is out of town on a mini vacation in Orlando with a good friend.
I am on Day three of single parenthood and so far so good. All the children are accounted for. They all have maintained an appropriate level of hygene and are all clothed and fed.
We discovered that Cub Brand Pomegranate/Blueberry juice mixed with Canada Dry Ginger Ale makes the best drink in the universe. We had steak and chicken on the grill with rice and green beans the first night. We had spaghetti last night. We’ve had high-quality bacon and eggs breakfasts every morning… The kids must be thinking that they’ve been well fed. Unfortunately the kids will soon be thinking: “Wait a minute, Steak and Spaghetti must be the only things this doof knows how to make… this certainly doesn’t meet our expectations… Where’s that Lady that used to live here?”
Every night, I go to sleep by myself and wake up in the morning sharing the bed with an assortment of children… but who minds that? I guess it depends on if they’re your kids or not.
Anyway, good times with the kids.
On another note, I managed to squeeze in a few hours at the recording studio this morning working on the soon to be released RVC worship CD. This is a live recording of our Chick Night service a couple months ago and is on track to be released Mother’s Day weekend. My lovely wife does most of the worship leading on it and Heath Ewing is doing the mixing/editing. I know I’m fairly biased, but I’m also fairly critical of music stuff and I think the new CD sounds amazing. I couldn’t be more pleased with how this project is turning out.
Huge ‘Thanks’ to Heath for all his hard work.
Huge ‘You are fabulous’ to Kristie who is the driving force for this whole project… and is fabulous.
Huge ‘Thanks’ to Pastor Rob and Becca who are always encouraging and enabling their staff to dream big and succeed.
So, Mother’s day weekend… you don’t have to shop for presents, just come to church that weekend and buy a CD.
Finally. We are working on another video for this weekend that should turn out pretty good. All I’m saying is that it involves swords, flutes and tights.
Anyway, we're off to McDonalds... gotta go.
already got my order down for cds??? my only problem is that my desire to gift will exceed my wallet, i know already. i'm so happy you and kristie and pleased with how it's going. you are indeed, ahem, *particular* enough with your music stuff that if it wasn't up to par you'd find a way to say so. :) hope the kiddos had more than mcd's this week, or kristie got home soon after the above-mentioned trip. see you saturday for choir!

Jeff,
Your posts are so real and raw. While I have only seen you once, and that was a long time ago and from a distance, I do feel that when reading your blog posts, I can visualize what you describe. You have a way of describing life that makes others smile. Thank you. Keep up the awesome posts!
I agree with Ann Marie, I hope Kristie saved the day before the dreaded McD's... she does seem to be super mom/woman all in one.

Could you send a cd to 339 S. 10th, Geneva NE??? And bill Jason Bahr...you'll save him the trouble of finding a mother's day gift : )
Seriously...I'm not sure I ever told you guys how much I liked the first worship album you did. I very rarely listen to music...i'm more of an audio book girl, but for the past 3-4 years if I'm listening to music its either River Valley worship album or something Jason is subjecting me to against my will!
